Ambassadors

At CORE we have two types of ambassadors, as we realized that there is a difference between competitive athletes and the normal lovers of the sport whose dedication we want to acknowledge. Some of these ordinary people has surpassed their wildest dreams and has become exceptional human beings. Anything in life is possible. "NEVER GIVE UP"

I grew up in the Philippines since childhood I always participated in Sports up to my college years. I played Baseball while I was in the elementary and became a member of the school team which competed in the provincial competitions. I started playing basketball after I moved to high school up to my college days. I used to play during our intramural sports fest representing my course. I became an avid basketball fan even until now but I stopped playing when I started doing Triathlon.

DREAM

My dream to become a triathlete started in Oct 2016 when I bought my first road bike, I started running  in Dec 2016, I remember I did a 4K run with a 8:07/KM pace and as an asthmatic person I was really proud with my first run. It was hard for me to master the technique of swim, bike and run since I never been an endurance athlete. So on my first 6 months in the sports I had a lot of triathlon related injuries. But despite of those injuries, I want to excel and prove to myself I can be one of the best Filipino Triathletes here in UAE.

FACEBOOK

With the help of my coach, I was able to improve a lot. From a 3:00mins /100m pace in the swim to my best 1:40mins / 100m pace in a 70.3 race, from a 25km/hr Ave speed during my first sprint distance race to a 38km/hr Ave speed in a 70.3 race, and lastly from a 8:07/km pace when I started running to a 4:25/km pace in a 70.3 race.

I am a dedicated Triathlete with a passion and enthusiasm to strive always achieve at level above expectations and to 'be the best version of myself I possibly can.'

I have always been enthusiastic about sports. As a child, I remember being a part of a Softball team in my school. I was curious and hungry and started to train for the first time at the age of ten. After that, I continued to play and became a member of Softball national team during college period. I learned to value and love the sport and it became an essential part of my life, relaxing and free of stress. My enthusiasm for sports led me to be in Fitness Industry and been part of it for 9years. Aside from being triathlete I am keeping myself busy on educating other people by certifying them to become a lifesaver.

Triathlon is a sport that takes time, effort, and lot of dedication. I began a special training for triathlon last 2018, relying on my calendars (trainings / triathlon races) gives me structure so that i know what i need to work on today, and, knowing that this will help me to become proficient enough to accomplish my goal. By chance, Last year I met Brian Clarkey who created a personal training plan for me – and it was a training program for triathletes. Brian coached me until now and this continued positive changes soon showed results.

REMARKABLE STORY

Richard is 47 years young, the father of two beautiful girls, a corporate success with a leading property firm, and a terminal human being.

After a nightmare two-year journey battling stage four brain cancer, Richard is sharing his story of endurance, passion, heartbreak, and the triumph of the human spirit over crippling adversity, with audiences around the country.

Today, Richard is in remission, and has a remarkable story to tell.

I AM RICHARDWRIGHT

The Ironman Triathlon is a grueling 3.8 km swim, 180 km cycle, and 42.2 km run raced in that order without break. It is widely considered to be the toughest one-day sporting event in the world. A very select group of people succeed in finishing the race. Even fewer finish it under 13 hours. Richard did so with stage four brain cancer. Twice. Including Ironman Wales which is arguably the toughest Ironman race in the world. He finished Ironman South Africa in an unbelievable 10 hours and 30 minutes, and went on to finish two Ironman and four Half Ironman events, and the Sani2C and 36ONE mountain bike stage races over an eight month time frame, all with brain cancer. In the 2017 Ironman overall age group rankings, Richard finished an incredible first position in South Africa and 180th in the world.

This is what I do.

Need some inspiration for your team for the final push of the year? It's been a long and hard year for many, make the last couple of months count. I can help.

Book me.

Try three times. Three terminal brain cancer diagnoses. What happens is you figure out how NOT to be a victim and you control the controllables. Life is hard, it plays no favourites. Whatever you CHOOSE to believe will be your reality. Choose wisely. It's only failure if you fail to learn from your mistakes.

This morning's virtual keynote delivered some tough lessons and some good learnings. They won't be repeated.

I've learned over this time that the best way to learn is to DO. Also, that you can recover from almost any tech issues. Resilience in action.

…or in other words, welcome. When I began the Enrichment Project over a decade ago, creativity meant performing. By pestering a group of other talented women, I hoped to “just figure this creativity thing out” in about a year or so. We sat down to meals, exchanged bread and salt, and then the real stories began to emerge.

MY STORY

Up until the age of 36 I did not do any form of sport or activity that would involve breaking a sweat. I could not even swim then. After a visit to my physician back in 2011 my life changed. During the visit to the GP I got the news that I was overweight and heading towards obesity. The lights came on and I became desperate. That was in December 2011, it has been a long amazing journey since then. A lot has changed since then.

Michael Price

An Ironman journey is just that – a journey – and there is a starting point and a destination and the road that we travel between these two points is what makes us who we are and determines the reasons for us taking this journey in the first place

FROM ORDINARY TO IRONMAN

In the last 3 years I have drastically changed my life around to be a double Ironman South Africa Tour Series medal recipient. Through Ironman training and events, I have shown others that ordinary people can do extraordinary things if they just shift the focus of why they do it from themselves to others. In the beginning I was unable to walk along the beachfront without stopping to rest and recover, to meet my son on the red carpet in his first IronKids event and cheer him over the finish line. This year my whole family is involved in events throughout the year, but I cannot take the credit for getting them and myself to the various red carpets and finish lines. Through the love and support that we receive from each other and the dedication of all the staff at the various charities, we have walked this road together from day one. We also need to have fun along the way

I said three years ago that if I was able to #inspire or #motivate just one person to be better then I would be happy with what I have achieved and to date I have done so much more. This journey is not done yet and my road has taken a whole new turn to include so much more than what I initially intended
